Shelter Half

I love Shelter Half. I mentioned this store on my last post about General Quarters being among the other great shops on La Brea. This 4,200 square foot shop sells quality American made goods that span fashion, food, books, ceramics, furniture, and more. The products are wide-ranging and unique. When I first visited a few months ago I was shocked by the diversity of products carried and still made in the US.
From my understanding this shop is here only temporarily, but there’s been no set time it will close. So make sure to stop by and check out this ever-evolving space.

Churchkey Can Co.
Churchkey Can Co. is a beer company co-founded by actor Adrian Grenier and former Nike designer Justin Hawkins. The pair have taken inspiration from beer cans of yester-year to start their new company. Each can is made of fully-recyclable steel and the company get its name from the churchkey opener, which is how you open the can.
The Pilsner-style craft beer being served in these cans was developed by long-time homebrewers Lucas Jones and Sean Burke, and is 4.9% ABV with a relatively mild score of 29 IBU. You can find Churchkey in stores through the Pacific Northwest.
General Quarters
So along with the new, official domain and updated layout, I’m going to continue this overall with better content. A while ago I stopped reblogging photos because I’ve been using The Fancy to maintain that. Lately it’s been all videos. But that’s going to end too. Starting today this is going to turn more into a blog focused on fashion, lifestyles, and experiences. I’ve been meaning to get this going for a while. We start with General Quarters.

General Quarters is one of my favorite stores in Los Angeles as the moment. This store is located on La Brea in Los Angeles. There’s a ton of great shops on this street, including Shelter Half, Union, and American Rag. I’ll be featuring a few of those another time. General Quarters hit really well on a lot trends right now, and has a great curated selection of brands, including some personal favorites of GANT Rugger button downs and Tellason raw denim jeans.
