Pinel & Pinel Arcade Trunk

After doing some research on arcade games for our PAX Party, I stumbled upon this Pinel & Pinel Arcade Trunk. It features a a 1080p LCD screen, a high-def sound system with integrated iPod/iPhone dock, and sixty built-in titles include Pac-man and Space Invaders. This cool will arcade system does not cheap at a cool $13,700.
Broken Social Scene – “Meet Me In The Basement”
The pictures and videos from the G20 riots in Toronto blew my mind when I saw them a few weeks ago. This fan made video combines images of those riots along with images of “distractions” from the state of the world and humanity.
Cudi, Rostam, and Best Coast – “All Summer” – Converse
Converse partnered Kid Cudi, Rostam from Vampire Weekend, and Bethany from Best Coast to create this song. Overall it’s a good song (much better than the Pharrell, Santogold, and Julian Casablancas one), but the highlight comes during the chorus from Bethany. I’m really in love with this girl right now. Her full length album is sure to be on many people’s Album Of The Year lists.
Red Bull Stratos
Red Bull is out to really prove that they’ll give you wings with their Red Bull Stratos project. On their website, they say “Red Bull Stratos, a mission to the edge of space, seeks to surpass limits that have existed for 50 years. Felix Baumgartner will undertake a stratospheric balloon flight to 120,000 feet and attempt a freefall jump targeted to reach – for the first time in history – supersonic speeds. Driven by Red Bull and a stellar team of scientists and specialists, the mission aims to deliver valuable lessons in human endurance and high-altitude technology.”
Reading a bit more into this, Felix is basically freefalling from space towards earth and is expected to break the sound barrier. This would make him the first person to ever do that without the help of any machine/vehicle/what-have-you. The whole mission is designed to help figure out a way to get astronauts back to earth if something happens to their shuttle so that we don’t have another Challenger. NASA aren’t willing to be attached to this project in case anything goes wrong, but Red Bull sure is, and I commend them for it.
This is supposedly all taking place in August.
Tokyo Police Club – “Wait Up (Boots of Danger)”
I love Tokyo Police Club, and I really love this new video of theirs. If you head to their website, you can donate to the ASPCA®. In return, you’ll be able to download this video and receive both the RAC and DOM remixes of “Wait Up (Boots of Danger).” 100% of each sale will be donated to the ASPCA®.
Cults – “Oh My God”
Cults released three songs a few months ago that immediately grabbed a lot of attention. The band didn’t release any info about themselves, except for the three songs on a BandCamp page. They’ve just released this video for “Oh My God.” Kinda weird. I don’t understand the whole balloons thing. But overall, I like the vibe and definitely like their music.
